Answers to Most Often-Asked Questions...

Q.  What are the basic exhibition fees?
A.  A single-unit booth space is 430,000 Yen per booth (3m x 3m space); 410,000 yen per booth in case of 4 or more booth spaces.  The fees include the space with backdrop curtain but no booth setup or booth furnishings.  In addition there is a 5% sales tax applicable.  Fees are payable in Japanese yen.  Most exhibitors do this via a bank transfer.

Q.  Can I get a specific trade show floor placement for my booth?
A.  The trade show floor assignments are not settled by the ET show management until the fall.  Previous exhibitors have priority preferences followed by the order of application submission for new exhibitors. There is no guarantee of trade show floor assignment but ET tries on best effort basis to meet the exhibitor's preferences.  For example, you can request: do not place near competitor A, B, C; or you can request: place near company A, B, C, or a particular zone.  Getting the application in early gives exhibitors a priority advantage.

Q.  I am a small company...can I rent a turnkey booth?
A.  A turnkey booth package is available for both 1-unit (3x3m) booth and 2-unit (3x6m) booth configurations.  The cost for a basic 1-booth set up is 90,000 yen plus tax.  The cost for a basic 2-booth set up is 130,000 yen plus tax.  Turnkey booths includes basic carpet/flooring, lights/furnishings and electrical.  The turnkey booth is set up for exhibitors...just have to add your signs, brochures and other items you wish to bring.  There are pictures of the turnkey booths in the Support Programs document.

Q.  Are there any presentation opportunities available at the show?
A.  There is no "Call for Papers such" as in USA shows.  Basically, keynotes and related presentations/panels are done by invitation only by ET management (Japanese speakers only).  If you have a high-level speaker (Japanese speaker) with a strong industry interest subject you can propose it for review by ET management.  However, any registered exhibitor can schedule two types of presentations as described below (see the Support Programs document).
  • Workshop Presentation; 45 minutes, held in a conference room. Cost is 60,000 Yen/presentation plus tax.
  • Open Stage presentation; 20 minutes, held at the Exhibition Hall stage (near center of exhibition floor).  Cost is 40,000 Yen/presentation plus tax.

Q.  Is the ET attendee list available for rental to use for promotional purposes, such a Email marketing or direct mail?
A.  Due to privacy laws in Japan, email/mailing list rental is not available.  Exhibitors can take advantage of various promotional opportunities as described in the Support Programs document.

Q:  What is the cost to attend the exhibition?
A.  The cost is free if you pre-register.  At the door, the cost is 1,000 yen.  The online pre-registration system opens several months before the show starts.  The visitor registration link will be on the home page when it opens.
